Security for fractional hiring

Fractional hiring security comes down to three things: who can see what, what the contract says about your data and IP, and how money moves. This page covers how Side.work handles each one.

Access by role

Workspaces have an owner, admins and hiring managers. Specialists only see conversations, contracts and roles they are part of. Scale adds roles for finance approvals.

Single sign-on on Scale

SAML SSO with your identity provider, so leavers lose access when you switch them off there.

Audit log on Scale

Intros, contract changes, timesheet approvals and team changes are logged with who and when.

Encryption in transit

Every page and API call runs over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never in readable form.

Payments and identity

Card data and specialist bank details are handled by our payment processor and never stored on our servers. Card payments use 3D Secure.

Contracts that protect your IP

Every contract carries an NDA and IP assignment by default. Scale can attach your own template.

Data minimisation

Specialists show only first name, last initial, headline, hours, rate and checks until they reply to you. Companies stay anonymous on published roles until they reply.

Your data, on request

Export your workspace data or ask for deletion by writing to [email protected] from the account email.

Questions from IT and legal

Who is the employer of the specialist?

Nobody. Specialists work as independent contractors under the contract you sign with them on Side.work. Side.work runs the marketplace, the contract records and the payments. See the Terms of Service.

Can we use our own NDA?

Yes, on Scale you can store your own NDA and IP terms and attach them to every contract. Other plans use the standard Side.work NDA and IP assignment.

How do we report a security issue?

Write to [email protected] with the details. We reply from the same address and keep you updated until it is resolved.
